Navico said it has established a wholly owned subsidiary called Navico Shanghai, and opened an office in Shanghai. The marine electronics giant has hired Michael Huang as business development manager to run the office.

“We are proud to have built many important relationships with our Chinese channel partners and recognize their importance in our future growth within the region,” said Leif Ottosson, chief executive officer, in a statement. “By establishing a local trading company, we are reinforcing our commitment to the region and providing a strong base to support our customers.”

Navico is the parent of the Lowrance, Simrad Yachting and B&G brands.
