The Ship Lift Platform 3300 will be used for the construction and refit of large vessels

A new syncrolift is now operating at Palumbo Superyachts’ shipyard in Ancona, Italy.

The Ship Lift Platform 3300 is comprised of an 81m-long and 19m-wide steel platform, supported by 14 large winches that can lift/launch megayachts of up to 110m in length with a maximum draft of 6m. It has a 3300-tonne lift capacity.

The syncrolift involved an investment of around €6m, and will be used for the construction as well as the refit of large vessels.

With this investment, Palumbo Superyachts’ has strengthened its reputation as a major shipbuilder in the Adriatic. Spread over a 50,000sq m area with 10 piers and a 560-tonne travel lift, it can accommodate large ships as well as providing crew offices and ship chandlery.

The new syncrolift will be inaugurated during the launch of the Columbus 80m Dragon, which is scheduled for mid-March.
