Pursuit Boats said it plans to enter the sport yacht segment in the early fourth quarter of this year. The Florida-based builder, a division of S2 Yachts, builds offshore and inshore fishing boats from 18 to 38 feet LOA.
“Our goal is to leverage our strengths in design, engineering and manufacturing, along with our reputation for the finest in outboard-powered fiberglass boats,” said Tom Slikkers, president, in a statement.
The company said the first model would be in the “mid-thirty foot range,” and would be displayed on its website, online boating sites and magazines several months before its launch. The boats will be powered by Yamaha outboards.
Pursuit said the new series is a “logical step” in the growth of its model lines and customer base. The official name of the series will be unveiled shortly before the launch. Slikkers said the patent-pending design has “advantages” in performance and fuel efficiency.
