The 100% electric tender is equipped with Torqeedo’s 55kW Deep Blue electric engine

Jet tender specialist Avon, part of the Zodiac Nautic Group of France, has teamed up with Germany-based Torqeedo to launch the Avon eJET 450 at Cannes.

The 100% electric tender from Avon is equipped with Torqeedo’s 55kW Deep Blue electric engine and the latest generation of automotive battery (30.5kWh, as used in the BMW i3). It is available for sea trial on request at the Cannes as well as the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show.

“We’re always looking for what will come next in the boating industry and seek the best partners to make that happen. Torqeedo was clear choices from the get go on the eJET project,” says Dominique Heber-Suffrin, president of Zodiac Nautic Group.

The eJET 450 has a 90-minute at 23kt (seven hours at 5kt) and can reach speeds of up to 31kt, thanks to its revolutionary Hydrojet technology. Avon’s eJET products also carry connected capabilities allowing them to be maintained and upgraded directly through the Internet.

All Avon eJETs feature hypalon fabric, electrically-retractable seating, and upholstery by Serge Ferrari with a quilted finish sewn by hand in France. The range is entirely customisable with hundreds of options available.

Christoph Ballin, co-founder and CEO of Torqeedo, says: “Avon’s eJET tender marks the arrival of clean and quiet electric mobility in the luxury tender segment. It’s a gorgeous product and we are proud to support it.”
