In less than two weeks, the 2015 Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference (ASMEX) in Sanctuary Cove, Queensland, will be hosting a strong line-up of international and Australian speakers, providing the industry with insights into the global market and the opportunities that exist for Australian companies.
From May 19-20, speakers will be presenting up-to-date figures and insights into opportunities, trends and developments in foreign markets such as Asia and Europe, and covering the export, superyacht and commercial defence sectors.
“Our line-up of Australian speakers this year is also fantastic, with key Australian personalities like Wes Moxey, CEO of Riviera, who will provide a candid insight into Riviera’s current strategies, how they are driving success in the business, the importance of where the dollar sits, the importance of training in the industry and the key markets where Riviera sees opportunities,” says MaryAnne Edwards, CEO of event organiser the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX).
“We are also excited by the fact we have a number of high level government representatives attending the conference highlighting the interest the Australian government is now having in the marine sector,” she says.
Also taking the stage will be Mark Stothard, managing director of Echo Yachts in Western Australia. The company’s 84m superyacht project, White Rabbit, is now well underway and boasts the accolade of being the largest ever superyacht project undertaken in Australia.
Another confirmed Australian speaker is Wild Oats XI skipper Mark Richards. Richards became CEO of Grand Banks in 2014 after Palm Beach Motor Yachts, the company he founded in 1995, was acquired by the Asian boatbuilder last year.
ASMEX 2015 will be held from May 19-20 at the Intercontinental at Sanctuary Cove on Australia’s Gold Coast.
