Marine audio electronics specialist Clarion has extended its range of marine stereos to appeal to a wider range of boat owners and users.
The new Clarion M303 single DIN radio/CD combination head unit comes with built-in Bluetooth, allowing music to be wirelessly streamed from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
A USB port with Apple authenticity allows playback of music libraries held on iPod/iPhone, and an auxiliary input via RCA provide other connectivity possibilities.
Together with a built-in microphone, the Bluetooth function also gives a hands-free phone facility with Bluetooth-enabled mobiles, with access to the phonebook. Wired or infrared optional remote controls add to the practicality.
Also new is the Clarion CMD8 radio/CD combination unit. Features include a coated, sealed circuit board and watertight front panel. With a simple press of a button, this panel flips down to reveal the CD slot.
The CMD8 includes direct control of iPod/iPhone music libraries in the same way as the M303 model and for most the 4x45W channel amplifier will be enough to fill the boat stem to stem with great quality sound.
For those looking for an enhanced audio experience, particularly on larger craft, the CMD8 has an additional output for connection to an external Clarion marine power amplifier, to boost the power output significantly. Three Clarion MOS-FET power amplifiers are available with outputs from 350W-1000W.
