X4X-Yachts has announced that hull #1 of its X4 is now out of the mould. The work on the new 12,5m sailing yacht is moving on fast, the Danish builder claims.

“In the last few weeks we have seen the foam sandwich hull be successfully infused using epoxy resin and the structural hull liner glued down with a perfect fit,” X-Yachts says in a statement.

The bulkheads, steel frame and hull beams will be fitted in the next few weeks. The structural work within the hull will then be complete and the build can move on to system installations and interior fit out.

The X4 and X6 will both make their debuts at boat shows this summer.

In addition, X-Yachts has announced that it will be sponsoring the 2016 ORC worlds.

“With the event taking place in Copenhagen and having over 25% of the 150 entries built by the Danish builder, it seemed only natural that X-Yacht become a sponsor of the 2016 event,” reads a statement.

The ORC worlds is organised and hosted by the Royal Danish Yacht Club, who X-Yachts also work in partnership with to organise its Gold Cup.
