Mercury Marine hosted the 9th annual Changzhou Seminar, an event dedicated to educating boat-makers and customers about product and service as well as business development strategy and how to support OEM boatbuilders in 2016 and beyond.
Close to 30 OEM boatbuilders took part in the two-day event, which was supported by one of Mercury’s largest Asian dealers, Changzhou Hongwei (CZHW).
One of the main goals of the event was to strategize on how to grow the overall commercial market over the next few years.
“Communicating our business plan and introducing new products is a great way to help our customers better understand the Mercury strategy and give them the tools they need to sell product,” comments Bill McEathron, Mercury Marine general manager of Asia Pacific.
“It’s no secret that the commercial market overall is down in China right now, and we will work together with our boatbuilder partners and dealers to get a better understand of the business landscape and work together to increase share.”
Some of the products introduced during the seminar were the 350hp Verado and 400R outboard engine as well as the commercial Sea Pro line of 75-115hp outboard engines, which are designed for the commercial market.
Attwood, one of Mercury Marine’s P&A companies, also presented its business goals and products at the seminar.
