Nanni, the official distributor of MAN engines for France and French speaking countries, has announced that it has received two orders from French shipyard CNB to equip Andrea and Chjara Stella, two new passenger boats planned for 2016 and 2017, respectively.

These boats are equipped with two MAN V8-800 (D2868 LE 422) of 800hp and 16-litre cubic capacity.

The V8-800 features a V architecture that allows for low noise and low vibrations. “Its medium duty rating of 4000 hours by year and high torque from low rpm guarantees a fast take off,” the company claims.

In addition, an electric system has been installed on the shaftline engines to switch from mechanical to electronic mode, to sail in hybrid.

CNB is currently building the second boat.
