Multihull Central in Australia has announced that the first Aquila Power Catamaran to be delivered to the country was sold in Florida at the Palm Beach International Boat Show.

Launched in 2012 through a partnership between boatbuilding specialist Sino Eagle Group and leading powerboat retailer MarineMax, Aquila’s product line includes 38’, 44’ and 48’.

Aquila boats are built by Sino Eagle and designed as cruising power catamarans through a collaboration with J&J Designs. The Aquila brand is the brainchild of Lex Raas, who has decades of experience in the catamaran manufacturing and charter boat industries.

Andrew and Deirdre McLeod confirmed their order for a new Aquila 44 following a sea trial off Palm Beach, Florida.

“There’s just nothing else like the Aquila 44,” explains Andrew McLeod, “We fell in love with her the first time we stepped aboard. The stability, quality of finish, living space, overall amenity and value for money that the Aquila 44 delivers is, in my view, unmatched by any other manufacturer,” he comments.

Aquila 44 will be delivered next summer into Australia. Upon delivery, the McLeod’s will begin a cruise of Australia’s east coast attending various boat shows and ports in their effort to promote Aquila brand in this market.

Commenting on the Aquila 44, Lex Raas says: “We feel that we have gotten the balance right. We are very happy with how she has come together and the design has been received extremely well by both the international and domestic markets.”

All three Aquila designs are available for charter in the Caribbean with MarineMax Vacations. The company operates a fleet of 25 Aquila Power Catamarans.
