The UK-based engine importer has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Talamex
UK-based engine importer and distritubor EP Barrus Ltd has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Talamex, a branded range of over 3,500 chandlery items.
This marks the company’s first step in establishing a portfolio to become a leading distributor in the chandlery and aftermarket sector.
Talamex is owned by Dutch distributor Lankhorst Taselaar, which was acquired by Brunswick Corp in 2017, and claims to offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of marine product in the industry.
The line-up includes a mix of technical and non-technical products suitable for sailing boats, motorboats, and inflatables and has been carefully selected over the last 20 years.
Talamex has developed a leading position in Europe by offering an extensive range of chandlery products and creating a striking in-store presence through strong branding and creative packaging ideas. This is the first and only brand in the UK to offer such a concept.
“I am very happy and excited to partner with Barrus in bringing the complete Talamex product range to the UK market,” says Lankhorst commercial director Jarno Berkhof. “I believe that, with the strong distribution capabilities and long experience in the marine industry, Barrus will be able to provide and outperform the service requirements of the industry and grow Talamex in the UK exponentially.”
The Talamex line-up will join the Attwood range of products that Barrus currently distributes and opens a new avenue for a company already well known for distributing a portfolio of marine brands that includes Mercury and Yanmar engines, Mariner outboard motors and Quicksilver boats.
EP Barrus has over 100 years’ experience in distributing products across multiple industry sectors and over 75 years within the marine industry.
Talamex products will be available from Barrus in October 2018.
