Australian builder claims to have doubled sales
One-year after restructuring its US sales operation, Australian yacht builder Maritimo reports it has double its sales, seeing an increase of US$35 million.
“It has always been part of our strategic international expansion plan to have a strong presence in the USA,” said Maritimo’s CEO, Garth Corbitt in a statement. “After our first year under the new guard I am pleased to say we are well and truly on track.”
Maritimo Americas’ president Dave Northrop cites a combination product mix, having the right team in place and the still-strong US economy.
“The driving factors have been the extremely well received new product, expanded distribution networks with a combination of Maritimo Company Retail outlets in key centers and expansion of the dealer network,” Northrop said. “We have seen a huge increase in sales and we expect to see that continue in the next 12 months.”
In addition to long-time West coast dealers Bill and Michelle King, Maritimo added new dealers in the Great Lakes and the Chesapeake Bay areas, to round out the overall dealer team in North America and the Caribbean.
Maritimo also added to its North American staff by bringing in seasoned industry veterans Peter Helebrand, Sheryl Northrop, and Mike Swift.
