Brand expects 25% growth year-on-year for the next three years

Maritimo reached a ‘milestone experience’ in its 20-year history exhibiting at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) today by holding the global launch of three new models – the M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht, M600 Offshore Flybridge and S600 Offshore Sedan.

The company also provided an update on its performance which has seen record sales growth and an unprecedented level of forward orders. Lead designer Tom Barry-Cotter said: “Maritimo saw a 25% growth in production over the past year and we anticipate 25% year-on-year growth for the next three years.”

Maritimo does not divulge sales per model, but IBI understands that it has received 12 orders off-plan for its new M75 Flybridge and S75 Sedan. Both are in development and are having their global launch at SCIBS 2022. Regarding the sales, one-third are from Australia, one-third from New Zealand, and the rest is from the US and other markets.

Thanks to high levels of demand, the company has significantly increased its new-build facilities at the Coomera marine precinct. Maritimo is also significantly increasing its workforce and by the end of this year expects to have 300 employees, both direct and subcontractors.

The company has launched a dedicated recruitment and retention programme to help it address a shortage of workers and build the right team for the future. Under the Maritimo apprentice programme, members not only get taught boatbuilding skills but also life skills and leadership.

Another development for the brand will be the holding of the first Maritimo Migration regatta event which will see a group of Maritimo owners sharing in a rendezvous meeting at Hamilton Island in July. It is planned to hold this annually at locations in Europe, the US and New Zealand. A dozen or so of Maritimo’s suppliers have signed up for the event, which will include sail and power boat races exclusive to Maritimo owners.

In a further initiative, Maritimo has entered into a partnership with 3Beaches design to help owners with interiors, including colours and finishes, soft furnishings and accessories. The company is experiencing supply chain difficulties but it is working closely with its suppliers to address shortages and delays.

In respect of the three global launches, Barry-Cotter said: “These have been developed as part of a much wider project.”

The new M60 Flybridge Motor Yacht sets new benchmarks for available deck space within its class. The model features an enclosed flybridge skylounge with internal staircase, the climate-controlled area providing comfort for any long-distance passage. Beyond the flybridge skylounge doors, the flybridge balcony deck offers over an unprecedented 11m² of protected outdoor deck space.

The two flybridge models feature, on the main deck, beyond the saloon doors, a very spacious upper cockpit not common on a flybridge motoryacht of comparable size.

The three-stateroom, two en-suite layout is designed to maximise every inch of the internal hull volume provided by the 5.2m (17ft) beam. Forward there is an offset queen stateroom with adjoining en-suite, with a generous twin single stateroom to starboard, whilst a full-beam king master stateroom is located mid-ships.

The global launch of the M600 Offshore Motor Yacht marks the first model within the new Offshore Series for Maritimo. A long list of orders have already been secured for the Offshore flybridge variant since the Offshore Series was first digitally revealed last year. This model has broad appeal both as a state-of-the-art fishing platform, or as a long-range, high-volume, three-stateroom, two-ensuite, luxury cruising motoryacht capable of intercontinental passage-making.

As to the third global launch, this new S600 Offshore Motor Yacht combines the functionality of the offshore cockpit and open water fishing practicality, in combination with a single level sedan design. The S600 incorporates a hardtop design by which Maritimo’s design division has maximised the practical use of storage onboard.

The S600 often un-used sedan hardtop to be accessed from the upper cockpit deck via overhead hatch and ladder, in order for the hardtop to be utilised as a utility deck space for storage of tender or other items, freeing the transom area of the boat for those dedicated to fishing or diving.

Barry-Cotter said: “The brand’s three global launches at SCIBS was a first for the show. We are very excited to be displaying these magnificent vessels for the first time and we are extremely confident that visitors to our display will also recognise them as truly world class luxury motoryachts.”

Another key development for Maritimo has been the appointment earlier this year of Derrick Nowak to spearhead the brand’s global dealer and market expansion in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
