Composite manufacturer refurbishes former Robalo Boats facility in Georgia to better serve east coast boat builders
Composites manufacturer Better Way Products has opened a new manufacturing facility in the southeastern US.
The Indiana-based fibreglass company officially opened its new production plant, located in a former Robalo Boats factory in Valdosta, Georgia. The 217,000 sq ft facility, purchased in the spring in order to enable the company to better service boat builders in the US south-east as an OEM, features more than $750,000 in upgrades and equipment including seven-axis water jet robots and new resin transfer molding equipment.
The company anticipates the new plant will create up to 90 new jobs in the region over the next two years. About 20 staff have been working at the site since April.
Better Way Products manufactures a range of fibreglass components such as consoles, hardtops, doors, hatches and other small parts as an OEM to major boat builders.
