Dream Yacht Charter becomes official bareboat sponsor of popular sailing regatta for another three years

Dream Yacht Charter, the world’s largest privately owned yacht charter firm, has entered into its second three-year partnership with Antigua Sailing Week as the official exclusive bareboat sponsor for one of the world’s most popular sailing regattas.

The new deal, which runs to May 2022, has been launched in time to support Antigua Sailing Week’s ‘Road to 2020’ campaign, which will consist of three major worldwide events in the Hamble, home of Dream Yacht Charter’s base in the UK; the Hamptons in the USA; and Lake Constance in Germany.

The three events will culminate in one crew participating in each of the regattas, winning access to a Dream Yacht Charter bareboat to take part in the 53rd annual Antigua Sailing Week Regatta in April 2020. The prize also includes flights to Antigua plus dockage at UNESCO heritage site Nelson’s Dockyard.

Andy Byham, director of Dream Yacht Charter in the UK, said: “We are excited to be able to support this wonderful event in a partnership that is very close to our hearts. Antigua has long been one of our most popular yacht charter destinations, with customers enjoying both the pleasure and racing elements that this exemplary sailing ground has to offer.

“We are proud to be able to be named as long-term official bareboat sponsor for this event and with first, second and third place taken by Dream Yacht Charter boats during the 2019 regatta, we are sure 2020 will see even more exciting sailing.”

Over recent years Dream Yacht Charter has steadily expanded its fleet and the number of bases around the world. The current fleet numbers in excess of 1,000 and the company operates over 50 destinations worldwide, many of which have participated in Antigua Sailing Week in past years and have won in a number of race classes.

Antigua Sailing Week marketing manager, Rana Lewis, said: “The summer events were designed to raise awareness of the competitive but fun bareboat fleets in Antigua Sailing Week as we aim to grow these classes each year. The ease of flying into the island and having a charter readily available is the perfect option for sailors with limited holiday time who want to experience the ultimate Caribbean regatta.”

Staff from Antigua Sailing Week will be joining the Dream Yacht Charter UK team at various events throughout August and September, including Cowes Week and the Southampton Boat Show on September 13.
