Crewsaver becomes sole marine distributor for the UK and Ireland for the marine and dive light ranges and overboard location alert systems (OLAS) for Exposure Lights and Exposure OLAS.
The Survitec Group has expanded its operations and product range with a new product and a new distributorship for the UK and Ireland.
The UK safety equipment and clothing manufacturer’s Crewsaver arm of the group has launched its new ErfoFit+ lifejacket at METSTRADE 2018. This new lifejacket, due to be officially launched in March 2019, comes with a new halo-hood system to offer additional protection.
The ErgoFit+ lifejacket is based on more than 60 years of lifejacket development. Crewsaver says it offers the next level in man-overboard protection. The new halo-hood system has been designed to the shape of the inflated bladder to significantly reduce the amount of water that can reach your airway.
This improved bladder and spray hood compatibility is combined with a new halo-hood construction. This gives a fully self-supporting hood, which once deployed, forms a spacious chamber above the wearer’s face. The hood also includes an internal barrier which prevents any further water ingress, while also doubling as an anti-glare panel to shield your eyes from the flashing lifejacket light.
Nigel Parkes, Crewsaver’s Head of Design, commented: “We work closely with organisations across a variety of sectors to constantly drive forward the safety technology used in our products. When we develop a new feature, we are quick to look at where else this feature can be utilised to advance other product ranges. The journey of the halo-hood system from its aviation origin, is a perfect example of this.”
In another move, Crewsaver has been appointed the sole marine distributor for the UK and Ireland for the marine and dive light ranges and overboard location alert systems (OLAS) for Exposure Lights and Exposure OLAS.
The Exposure lights are designed for high performance and combine the advantages of LED technology with powerful lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. This results in lightweight, highly-compact very powerful torches.
Tom Harrop, brand manager for Exposure Lights, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Crewsaver, with their reputation for top-quality safety products. Both our companies constantly strive to improve safety and survival afloat. Working together, both in terms of servicing the retailers and product innovation, ensures this benefits the sailing and paddling consumer.”
Crewsaver’s commercial director, Matt Bridge, adds: “Exposure Lights technologies have rapidly made significant changes in both marine safety lighting and on-water tracking. The power of their tiny, cordless, rechargeable lights, as well as the OLAS system, makes a great additional range for us to promote to retailers and integrate into our Crewsaver product lines.”
