New Dometic branding to support market expansion strategy
Dometic Corporation announced at the Miami International Boat Show that it is discontinuing the Oceanair branding for elements of its window covering business by the end of this month. Moving forward, the company will operate the business unit under the Dometic Marine Blinds nameplate as part of a new initiative to grow the unit’s market footprint.
The news comes not long after the Swedish company posted record sales of SEK 18.27bn for its 2018 financial year ended December 31, representing 30% growth over 2017.
The Dometic brand will open up the opportunities for Oceanair products with much broader audiences,” said Dometic Group chief marketing officer, Peter Kjellberg. “Dometic has a strong presence in the Marine market and with our extensive expertise in RV and hotel business, we are determined to bring Oceanair’s superior designs to new markets, new customers and new applications.” Dometic acquired Oceanair in February 2017.
Those new applications could include product for RVs, cruise ships, and boutique hotels, said Kjellberg.
Oceanair presently offers 50% of its blinds portfolio with automation options that lend themselves to new market applications, he said, including a diverse range of window blinds, to door and hatch coverings.
