Steeler Yachts to open new office in Ft Lauderdale next month
Dutch builder Steeler Yachts, fresh from picking up a Powerboat of the Year award at boot Düsseldorf, has announced that they will be opening an office in the US on February 1.
Steeler sold two NG40 motoryachts into the US last year. Both models went to the West Coast, but Steeler plans to open its office in Ft Lauderdale, which it sees as the focus of the US market going forward.
“The award of Powerboat of the Year will be a good platform to launch our range of steel and aluminium motoryachts in the US,” said Hans Webbnik, owner of the yard. “We see our designs, many of which follow closely the US Downeaster style, as being attractive to the US market and we look forward to expanding our sales in this market.”
The award went to one of the largest yachts in the company’s range, the Steeler 65. The prototype of this yacht was specially designed and adapted for easy disabled wheelchair access and this demonstrates the way in which the range of Steeler yachts can be fully customised to meet individual requirements.
Steeler yachts are noted for the high quality of their finish and whilst they still build the traditional style of motoryacht, the company has also moved into a more modern style aimed at the Mediterranean market which they hope will also appeal to the US.
