First dealer covering Benelux and northern France signed at METSTRADE

Norwegian electric engine manufacturer Evoy is planning a major international expansion over the coming years as it builds a global dealer network to support the marketing and sales of its product range. Evoy produces ‘plug and play’ outboard and inboard electric motors for the leisure and commercial marine markets.
The first step in this plan was the signing of its first dealer at the recent METSTRADE Show in Amsterdam. The Green Wave, a Dutch company based in Goes, has agreed to cover Benelux and northern France for Evoy. The company will handle sales, service, installation, and parts-supply for Evoy’s entire engine range.
The Green Wave business model is centred on the electric and hybrid sail and motorboat market, with a full range of sustainable power alternatives − from the ultra-lightweight Temo 450 through to Evoy’s 120hp, 200hp and 300hp outboard range and the 400hp inboard which claims to be the world’s fastest.
Commenting on The Green Wave’s appointment, CEO Eric Caroen says: “The synergy between the two companies could not be better; with Evoy as one of the first brands that can deliver a finished product in series production, which is incredibly important in a market where boatbuilders and shipyards must be able to count on a stable supplier that can keep its promises and stick to pre-agreed delivery dates.
“For those who want to make a difference to the environment, we are now able to offer the smallest carbon tender, with a light Temo engine, all the way through to retro-fitting an existing hull with an Evoy, or the sale of brand-new Candela, Strana, ASTender or Saffier Yacht and everything ‘zero emission’ in between.”
Evoy’s chief commercial officer, Marte Rostrup Hofset, told IBI: “We are excited about partnering up with The Green Wave as our first dealership in Benelux and Northern France. Eric has a strong vision to electrify boating, and has already bought several systems from us and has a beautiful marina showcasing only electric boats.
“We are growing fast as a company and have received interest from several hundred dealerships and sales agents that would like to work with us from all around the world, but it has taken us some time to figure out how we want to structure these dealership agreements,” she says.
“We now feel that we have found a good model and have started to actively look for the right partners in the USA, Canada, Southern France, Australia, Italy, Germany and the Nordics among others. We are looking for dealerships that are future-oriented, willing to invest in electric, that have a marina for sea trials, and that can do installations and retrofits on existing hulls as well as service.”
