JL Audio and Fusion brands to operate independently in premium end of marine audio market

The early August announcement that US electronics giant Garmin had acquired premium audio equipment manufacturer JL Audio raised eyebrows across the leisure boatbuilding industry, while fueling speculation about what the transaction would mean for both JL Audio and Garmin’s Fusion Audio brands. With JL Audio displaying its full product line under new “JL Audio by Garmin” branding at this week’s International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) in Tampa, the company is eager to now discuss its future plans.
