International Council of Marine Industry Associations appoints new sustaining members

Raceix and P&O Marinas have become the most recent sustaining members of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA), bringing its total membership to over 100.

Raceix is new Irish marine-technology company which is in the final stages of developing a unique solution designed specifically for pleasure boats. Their launch product informs, encourages and supports the activities, adventures and lifestyles of powerboats of less than 8m in length.

“Becoming a member of ICOMIA is both an enormous honour and a vitally important part of our desire to ensure we’re always fully aware of developments and trends in the sector, allowing us to ensure that our solutions match the needs of the international boating community,” says Raceix co-founder Stuart Walker. “We’re extremely thankful to the Executive Committee for bringing us on board and we look forward to working closely with the other members in the coming months and years.”

P&O Marinas join the ICOMIA Marinas Group (IMG) as representatives from the UAE. P&O Marinas develops marinas in response to increased market demand for moorings and storage for yachts, including large yachts over 100m. As a DP World company, P&O work to cultivate long-standing relationships with important constituents along the global supply chain, to add value, provide quality services and ensure that everything they do has a long-lasting positive impact on economies and society.

The goals of the ICOMIA Marinas Group are:

  • To provide international leadership and a forum for the exchange of relevant technical, environmental, and marketing information
  • To forge a partnership between marina interests and recreational marine equipment manufacturers for strength and unity in securing and preserving waterfrontage for boat access
  • To educate government to the economic importance and environmental compatibility of recreational boating facilities with a view to easing regulatory barriers
  • To network with others in the recreational boating facilities field, pooling information for the common good

“We’re excited to join the ICOMIA Marinas Group and look forward to sharing our experience and expertise in the field for the development and best practice management of marinas and associated infrastructure throughout the world,” says Al Mannaei, CEO of P&O Marinas.
