Sanger has eight models of tow sportboats in the 20ft-23ft range
Towboat-builder Malibu Boats has announced a licensing agreement in which Sanger Boats will be utilising the Tennessee boatbuilder’s wakesurf technology.
“We are proud of our award-winning surf technology and will continue to defend that technology from unauthorised adopters,” Malibu CEO Jack Springer said in a statement. “I commend Sanger for reaching out to us and engaging the licensing discussion. It was the right thing to do. Today, almost every sterndrive company and five of the top six inboard companies are now licensed under Malibu’s portfolio of surf technology patents,” he said.
Family-owned and built since 1954 in central California, Sanger has eight models of tow sportboats in the 20ft-23ft range.
In addition to Axis wake boats, Malibu also produces Cobalt cruisers and Pursuit offshore fishing boats.
