Swedish builder appoints Florida-based yacht dealership to help grow sales

Sweden’s Nimbus Group has chosen Florida-based yacht dealership, HMY Yacht Sales Inc (HMY), to sell its Nimbus brand of boats along the eastern coast of Florida. With 11 locations from the Florida Keys to the Florida-Georgia state line – and 15 locations in total supported by a team of 50 sales professionals – HMY will significantly strengthen the company’s growing sales operations in North America, and importantly the biggest American boating market, stated the builder.

“The Florida market is an important one to tackle as we build our business here in the US, and we are thrilled to partner with such a strong industry leader whose capabilities and expertise in the Florida market will undoubtedly help us succeed,” says Justin Joyner, VP at Nimbus Group USA.

The Swedish boatbuilder is anchoring its entry in the North American market with its namesake brand, the Nimbus boat range.

The appointment of HMY is part of the Nimbus Group’s continued efforts to grow in the North American market. In June last year, the company recruited Joyner to build on its US footprint, opening a new headquarters in Annapolis, Maryland in August to expand the builder’s operational capacity in the world’s largest boating market – estimated to represent at least 50% of global boat sales.

“The addition of Nimbus will add to HMY’s elite collection of new yacht brands,” commented Steve Moynihan, HMY owner and president. “We will initially showcase the T9, T11, and W9 models at the HMY Outboard Boating Center in North Palm Beach and at our Dania Beach, Florida location.” The Nimbus Group said it will have its most popular models on display at the 2023 Palm Beach International Boat Show in March.

Sweden’s largest builder produces powerboats under the Alukin, Aquador, Bella, Falcon, Flipper, Nimbus and Paragon Yachts brands. Sales are made through dealer networks, with its largest markets are in Nordic region, Europe and the USA.

In 2021, Group sales reached SEK 1.46 billion, with 391 employees working across operations in Sweden, Finland, Poland, Norway, England and the USA
