Kha Shing’s new Monte Fino F76 will appear at the 2020 Taiwan International Boat Show in March
Taiwanese boatbuilder Kha Shing has been awarded the 2020 Taiwan Excellence Award for its new Monte Fino F76 Flybridge Motor Yacht (V76).
The award is given annually by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and TAITRA, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, to encourage Taiwan industries to upgrade and incorporate innovation and value into their products. The selection of awards is based on four criteria – research and development, design, quality and marketing.
The Monte Fino F76 Flybridge Motor Yacht is a joint development with UK naval architecture and yacht design firm, Humphreys Yacht Design. Kha Shing has manufactured over 1,000 yachts since the boatbuilder was established in 1977.
According to Kha Shing: “The yacht is designed to deliver the finest cruising experiences and comfort with a sleek and dynamic profile and plenty of natural light for the main deck saloon and dining area. The contemporary interior design with spacious main deck space is ideal for entertaining and relaxation with a large galley area with a double door fridge/freezer and a fully equipped galley for catering to large guest numbers. There is separate crew access to the galley, helm and crew areas via the side deck door. The helm station on the flybridge is ergonomically designed for ease of operation and meeting ISO regulations for visibility and safety. The lower deck features a full-beam master suite with three guest cabins, all en-suite. The crew quarters are entirely self-contained aft of the engine room.”
The Monte Fino F76 is 23m in length with a displacement of 60 tonnes and is powered by twin Caterpillar CAT C18 1,150hp diesel engines. The manufacturing process uses the SCRIMP process for laminating the hull and deck, with eco-friendly antifouling used to minimize the yacht’s in-water water environmental impact.
While the boatbuilding industry in Taiwan is well known for its 40 years’ experience in producing high quality yachts, mainly for the US market, recent editions of the Taiwan International Boat Show (TIBS) attended by IBI have shown that there are signs that the domestic boating market is growing. There are new marina projects opening and planned in Taiwan and overseas boat manufacturers are also focusing on the market.
The next edition of TIBS will take place in March this year with Kha Shing and the Monte Fino F76 listed as one of the key exhibits.
