Initial focus on brokerage and charter followed by management
YPI (Yachting Partners International), one of the group of leading global yachting brokerage businesses, has expanded its activities with a new office in Athens, Greece.
In a statement the company said: “Based in the Athens area, YPI Greece will initially focus on charter and brokerage, and will later expand into yacht management.” The Athens team will be supported by the YPI head office in Monaco as it develops its operations.
Laurent Debart, CEO of YPI, commented: “We are very excited about this new expansion for YPI. Greece is a key destination in yachting and we look forward to bringing our services to new clients in and around Greece, as well as connecting more closely with our existing clients based in this region.”
Greece is a long standing yachting market and is a key hub for both shipping and yachting. The country now boasts the third highest number of superyacht owners by origin after Russia and the USA, according to Knight Frank and Bloomberg. Greece and its islands are also among the top five charter destinations every year.
YPI is a subsidiary of the BRS group which rates as one the biggest commercial marine brokerage houses. While within the group YPI runs a number of dedicated yachting offices such as in Monaco and Antibes, the global office network of BRS can serve as a base for addressing the needs of other yachting markets as required.
