Volvo Penta, the marine division, has a research centre in Sweden that is testing the application of electric drives for commercial and pleasure craft. It will clearly benefit from the automotive superstack approach

New type of ‘stack’ manufacture should help to bring new products to market more quickly, whilst also reducing the cost
