A total of 12 boatbuilders and equipment suppliers serving the leisure marine sector participated in last week’s 2024 Global Consumer, Technology and Services Conference hosted by investment group Robert W Baird & Company, underscoring the high levels of competition for investment and the growing profile of the recreational boating sector overall among North American financiers.

Held from June 4-6 at the InterContinental Barclay in New York City, the annual invitation-only tech conference brought institutional and private equity investors together with senior management from more than 300 public and privately held companies representing the automotive, food and beverage, professional services, communications and telecom, consumer goods, healthcare, logistics, media and technology sectors.
Participating firms are invited to pitch investors on their company’s activities and near-term plans.
Leisure marine sector companies who participated in the 2024 Baird conference included Polaris, Winnebago Industries, Malibu Boats, BRP, Marine Products Corp, Brunswick Corp, Garmin, Patrick Industries, Littelfuse, OneWater Marine, MasterCraft Boat Holdings and Lippert Components/LCI Industries.
Despite little movement on interest rate cuts in the US, the recreational boating sector appears to be seeing increased activity through the second quarter, with many boatbuilders polled by IBI reporting sales gains in the entry-level and mid-range of the market.
