The largest-ever Kuwait Yacht Show opens tomorrow, attracting strong regional interest
The 2019 Kuwait Yacht Show (KYS) opens tomorrow, with event organiser PH7 Group stating that it will be the largest show in its seven-year history. KYS is also attracting strong regional interest. First-time exhibitor from Bahrain, Suprema Boats, will commemorate their introduction to the Kuwait show with the global launch of their latest model, the Suprema 36.
“As KYS has grown to become a solid fixture in the calendar of the Gulf region’s boat shows, we are excited to take part in this year’s seventh edition,” says Suprema sales director Jeremy Tutt. “Witnessing the show’s success in the six previous years, we felt that the show was the perfect venue for the launch of our new Suprema Boats 36.”
According to show manager Nouf Al Hajri, the exhibitor and brand base for the show has more than tripled in recent years, securing enthusiastic support from Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and industry.
“In addition to Kuwait’s vibrant maritime market and celebrated maritime heritage of fishing trading and pearl diving, the overwhelming reception for the show accurately reflects the immense value which Kuwait places on the marine economy,” Suprema’s Jeremy Tutt adds. ”We anticipate networking, business and exposure opportunities and a superb showcase for our new Suprema 36’ which will add value to our operations, the Kuwait economy, and the entire Gulf regional boating landscape.”
Speaking on the launch of the new model, Tutt says: “Each of our boats is designed with optimum performance in mind and the Suprema 36 is no different. As a part of our specialist range, its stable hull makes for an incredibly smooth ride and offers flexibility for a variety of uses including leisurely cruising, sports fishing, and outright refined boating. Meeting the requirements of all our top-tier models, it incorporates the highest Italian quality components and the very latest equipment. We are excited about its introduction to the global market.
“Fast, modern and sporty, our Italian master builders working in the purpose-built Bahrain factory have brought decades of experience to build a stable and dynamic hull design.,” Tutt continues. ”With a 23-degree deadrise deep V hull designed to plane early, it offers clean lines with excellent sea-keeping capabilities with speeds reaching 55kt with up to three 350hp engines.”
Voicing his thoughts on the valuable impact of the Kuwait Yacht Show to the region’s boating industry, Tutt said: “As it continues to meet growing market needs, KYS will yield greater recognition both in the region and beyond. We are confident that our participation in this year’s prestigious event, and our newest product launch, will greatly contribute in demonstrating this by connecting those passionate about the industry, and further sparking the image of the nation to demonstrate Kuwait’s essential marine capabilities on both regional, and international scales.”
Kuwait is the largest single boating market in the Arabian Gulf with an estimated 17,000 leisure boats. The Kuwait Yacht Show runs from March 26-30. IBI’s regional correspondent will be reporting from the show.
