Attendance was up 16% at this year’s Brisbane Boat Show
Visitor numbers were up by 16% at the 2018 Brisbane Boat Show, which ran from August 24-26 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre in Queensland, Australia. The three-day event attracted around 18,226 people.
“The industry is showing positive signs this year of rejuvenated confidence levels and a true willingness by consumers to upgrade their boating gear or buy something to participate in recreational boating for the first time,” says Alan Blake, president of Australia’s Boating Industry Association (BIA).
The Brisbane Boat Show is one of the largest recreational boat shows in Queensland, filling more than 20,000sq m of floor space across four halls. The show returned to the Brisbane city centre two years ago as part of a rejuvenation program.
According to the BIA, preliminary indications from businesses showing products and services to visitors was that many new products will be seen on the local waterways in the coming weeks and months.
Next year’s Brisbane Boat Show will return to the city from August 23-25, 2019.
