Florida boating rebounds from US$1bn in Hurricane Ian damage

The Fort Myers boat show is back to its normal schedule, opening this weekend

The recreational boating industry is slowly rebounding from the estimated US$1bn in vessel losses from when Hurricane Ian made landfall in Southwest Florida in September of 2022, killing 149 people, cancelling the International Boatbuilders Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), and forcing the 50th annual Fort Myers Boat Show to reschedule.
