Around 138 Italian businesses showcased their wares
Italian marine firms reported a successful appearance at Boot Düsseldorf this year, with lots of new products displayed in the halls of the German exhibition centre during the show’s nine-day run.
According to Italian marine industry association UCINA, Italy and the ‘Made in Italy’ brand took centre stage, with 138 businesses showcasing their wares.
“Boot Düsseldorf confirmed that the leisure boating industry is in good health, as do the market predictions we disclosed during the Association’s National Assembly last December in Rome,” says Carla Demaria, president of UCINA. “Once again, we were honoured to represent the excellence of the Made in Italy brand on the global stage.”
The German show was also a chance to promote the 2019 Genoa International Boat Show, which is scheduled to run from September 19-24 this year. The 2018 edition attracted 174,610 visitors, of which 57,000 came from abroad.
“The tangible interest we perceived here in Düsseldorf for the 59th Genoa International Boat Show persuaded us to move the registration opening date for the event up to February,” says Alessandro Campagna, commercial director of the show. “96% of exhibitors who were at the Genoa Boat Show in 2018 have already confirmed they will be back again this year.”
Italy’s significant presence at Düsseldorf is a key indicator of the boating industry’s current situation: Germany is Italy’s fifth largest market in Europe for boat exports, UCINA claims.
