The 1st Martinique Boat Show will be held this year in May

The Caribbean island of Martinique, part of the French West Indies, is to host its first-ever boat show in May. Organised by CACEM (the Central Agglomeration Community of Martinique), the inaugural Martinique Boat Show will be held from May 16-19 at L’Etang Z’Abricots Marina.

During the event, more than 3,000sq m of exhibition space will be available onshore for boatbuilders, yards, dealers, chandleries, distributors, engine manufacturers, charter firms, kite-surfing, diving, kayaking and motor boating specialists, as well as those involved with tripper boats, sailboats and traditional craft and fishing holidays.

The Martinique second-hand multihull boat show will also be held at the same time, with a new innovative concept from the creators of the International Multihull Show (la Grande Motte), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. With more than 30 show places available in the water, the second-hand multihull show will be home for four days to the whole of the used multihull sector.

“This is a guarantee ensuring the international success of the show,” says the organiser in a statement. “The professionals from Martinique will make the most of this event to allow visitors to discover all their technical and commercial ability and the warm welcome you always find in Martinique.”

The organisers said that their ambition is to make the Martinique Boat Show a regular fixture on the international boat show calendar. “This is a favourable time of year and what better setting is there for this new boat show than the magnificent bay of Fort de France with its central position in the French West Indies.”
