The next event will be held in 2022
The 2020 Taiwan International Boat Show (TIBS), originally scheduled for March 12-15 at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Kha Shing Pier 22, has been postponed to March 10-13, 2022. The show is held every two years and will be celebrating its fourth edition.
Over 80% of Taiwan’s yacht-related companies are located in Kaohsiung, the host city of TIBS. With R&D centres, manufacturers and suppliers of hardware components to machinery, marketing, dealers and agencies, Taiwan’s yachting market is capable of operating the entire supply chain on its own. The export value in 2019 reached US$3.8bn, a 38% increase from 2018, with products primarily exported to the US, Australia, Italy and Japan.
TAITRA, the Taiwan trade organisation and show organiser, commented: “While the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak resulted in the show being postponed this year, this is an extraordinary situation but we feel we must do our bit to ensure the safety and health of our exhibitors and stakeholders. We, the TIBS organising team, will pull together and get through this difficult period to enjoy an even bigger, better and more successful than ever Taiwan Int’l Boat Show in March 2022. We are hopeful that the industry throughout the world will recover after the epidemic. TAITRA’s overseas offices will continue to provide the latest information on the yachting industry in Taiwan and create more worldwide cooperation opportunities with our partners.”
