Show organisers working with Virginia Key Advisory Board to find ways of enhancing use of the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) says the Miami International Boat Show will not move from its traditional February window to a fall timeframe. The clarification follows a news piece that appeared three days ago in Miami Today reporting on a presentation by MIBS director Larry Berryman. Berryman recently met with the Virginia Key Advisory Board — a group of community leaders in Miami helping to shape the use of Virginia Key — and the discussion included how the Show can help maximise the use of the Miami Marine Stadium Park and Basin.

“We’re working with the Virginia Key Advisory Board to find ways we can enhance use of the Park and Basin and shared with them that we’re open to possibilities of how we can help. However, there is no consideration of moving the show from its traditional Presidents Day weekend—dates we’ve held for nearly 80 years.”

The NMMA has since sent a letter to MIBS exhibitors confirming the show’s Presidents Day schedule, which this coming season lands on February 13-17, 2020 at the Miami Marine Stadium Park & Basin.
