Many exhibitors reported quality buyers
The Norwalk Boat Show in Connecticut closed over the weekend with attendance down 11% from last year but many exhibitors reporting “quality buying crowds”, according to the show’s producer, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
Nearly 13,000 people attended the four-day event, with vendors calling out both strong end-of-season sales as well as “quality new attendees”.
NMMA, in conjunction with the Connecticut Marine Trade Association (CMTA), hosted a two-day Job Fair and Career Days for those interested in learning more about job opportunities in recreational boating.
Opening day of the show was dubbed ’Super Thursday’, which offered special savings and discounted tickets; on-water paddle sports including kayaking and canoeing; free boat rides; the Water Club Lounge with live music and On-Water Training Presented by BoatUS.
The show received extensive media coverage in both Connecticut and neighbouring New York. ’Good Day New York’ was live during the morning hours of the show, reaching more than 100,000 viewers, according to NMMA.
