120ft Andiamo began to sink and list heavily, before capsizing, according to local reports
A yacht reportedly owned by the Grammy Award-winning Latin Salsa entertainer Marc Anthony caught fire and capsized at its berth near Watson Island, Florida.
More than 45 firefighters from the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County fought the blaze from land and fireboats for more than an hour before the 120ft Andiamo began to sink and list heavily, before capsizing, according to reports by WSVN-TV.
Only a small watch crew were aboard when the fire, which is under investigation, broke out about 21:00 local time Tuesday night. No one was injured.
The Andiamo is valued at approximately US$7 million, sleeps 12 people with 5 cabins, a jacuzzi and docking stations for multiple PWCs.
Last April, the 51-year old singer was spotted on a yacht in Miami partying with over a dozen models in their 20s while docked next to Seaspice Brasserie & Lounge, according to Page Six with TMZ reporting that the boat which “served as a party palace for Marc and tons of his A-list celeb pals over the years,” was for sale earlier.
