Swan Super Lines (SSL) brokerage has relocated its Australian headquarters in response to “growing client demand” from around the country and a rise in the number of clients ding the bulk of their research online.

The company will now handle the sale of new vessels, select brokerage and clearance sales, tenders and commercial vessels, charter, events, marine hardware and the ‘Master your boat’ program from a new office space in the Wyndham Corporate Centre in Bundall, Queensland.

“We are just eight minutes from Marina Mirage, Southport Yacht Club and Palazzo Versace, and 25 minutes from Sanctuary Cove,” says company director Ian Swan. “Clients appreciate the proximity and easy access from the Gold Coast and Brisbane airports, and the opportunity to discuss all the options in tranquillity and privacy.”

According to Swan, clients from Melbourne, Sydney and overseas are increasingly doing their research online, flying up to the Gold Coast to inspect boats, then negotiating pricing, timeframes and other details.

“We have found our digital footprint is more important than a presence on the marina,” he says. “The latest data from the US Academy of Yachting Sales and other industry sources shows people get 85% or more of their information online over a broker or dealer. That has nearly tripled over the past decade with the rise of online sites and social media.”

Coinciding with the move, SSL is also reinvigorating its charter and events division. “We are overseeing two vessels in build that will be added to the Gold Coast charter fleet, and have Southern Cross II on our books," Swan adds.
