In their race to cut costs, reduce lead times and improve quality, boatbuilders are raising their game. The Innovation in a Production Process Award, sponsored by Dometic, the fifth award category at this year’s Boat Builder Awards for Business Achievement in association with Raymarine and organised jointly by IBI and METSTRADE, distinguishes those builders around the world truly setting new production benchmarks.

Judges are looking for improvements made to a boatbuilder’s production process in 2015/16 that are revolutionising the way they do business. Have the changes led to increased flexibility, reduced overheads, improved workflow and quality? Have you, or a boatbuilder you know of, introduced Lean processes, new quality or environmental control procedures, or invested in new lines?

If the answer is yes to any of the above, then you could be in the running for the Innovation in a Production Process Award.

To enter or nominate for this category award, please submit details of design solutions made on-board in 2015/16 via the awards’ website, www.boatbuilderawards.com. It is free to enter and to nominate for any of the eight award categories.

The final deadline for nominations is Friday, September 28. Winners will be announced at a glittering gala dinner to take place during the METSTRADE show on November 16 at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam.
