A number of home insurance companies have already become insolvent

While it is too early to tell how much of the estimated US$60bn insured losses caused by Hurricane Ian is related to boat damage, the worst storm to hit Florida since 1935 could have a negative impact on the availability of boat insurance in the state and most assuredly will lead to higher insurance premiums. And that’s before a storm surge of lawsuits hit.
