ACI awards multi-million $ contract to Finnish boatbuilder
Croatia’s leading marina operator ACI Marinas d.d. has awarded a contract for six sailing yachts to Finnish luxury boatbuilder Nautor’s Swan. The deal is estimated to be worth some €2.28m (US$2.6m).
Nautor’s Swan “is for the world of yachting what Rolex is for the world of watches, and Bentley for the world of cars, and as such, this is a reasonable choice,” said Ivan Klajkovic Gašpic, the director of ACI Marinas’s facility in Trogir, as reported by local daily Vijesti.
Headquartered in Opatija, on the Croatian Adriatic Sea shore, ACI Marinas runs 22 marinas located in the country’s west. In 2018, the company posted record revenues and profits, expanding its annual revenues to about HRK 216.1m (US$32.6m), up 7% compared with a year earlier. ACI Marinas posted a profit of about HRK 38.4m (US$5.8m) for last year, a robust increase of 54% year-on-year.
ACI Marinas is listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE). The Croatian Treasury is the firm’s majority shareholder, with a stake of 77.09%, according to figures released by the ZSE.
