The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund has requested an “improved binding offer” for Chios Marina
Greece’s privatisation agency, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF), has requested an “improved binding offer” for Chios Marina.
The bidder for the rights to operate the 170-berth marina for a period of at least 35 years is identified as Avlum Enterprises Company Ltd – Ioannis & Elias D Tefas Nafpigoplastiki – Cleopatra Marina SA – Touristikos Limenas Prevezas SA.
“HRADF’s Board of Directors unsealed the binding financial offer for granting the right to use and exploit Chios Marina,” the agency said in a statement. “According to the terms of the above tender process, the Fund requested the submission of an improved financial offer, which will be assessed at a subsequent meeting of the Board of the Fund.”
Chios Marina is located in the central part of the eastern coast of Chios, 2.5km from the city centre of Chios and from the main port and about 6km from the island’s airport. According to the agency, it has the “potential to develop all necessary ground handling facilities, including land-based craft, as well as and other uses of leisure and tourism.”
Chios is Greece’s fifth largest island, situated in the Aegean Sea.
