Port Louis Marina to get two new piers with 90 additional berths
Port Louis Marina, on the island nation of Grenada, is set to begin expansion plans this spring with a larger, renovated facility ready for use by August.
Camper & Nicholsons Marinas owns and manages the 160 berths that can accommodate vessels up to 295ft and is adding two new piers with 90 additional berths from 39ft-72ft, according to a company statement.
“We have seen a greater interest in large catamarans visiting our marina and anticipate this trend in the Caribbean to grow even further,” said Glynn Thomas, Port Louis Marina general manager. “The new pontoon layout will enable us to accommodate more of the catamarans and give us greater flexibility for small to mid-sized boats all year round.”
Camper & Nicholsons states the expansion will also provide required space for the marina’s hosting of international events such as the RORC Transatlantic Race, World Arc, and Oyster World Rally, as well as regional boat and charter shows, and also increase long-lease berthing options at the marina.
