Salerno, Italy-based Marina d’Arechi says it received over 100 expressions of interest for berth space from Northern European boaters at the recent Düsseldorf Boat Show.

Staff on the Marina d’Arechi stand welcomed hundreds of visitors during the nine-day event last month. Of these, 124 international visitors left an expression of interest. They came from Germany (48%), Benelux (12%), the UK (11%), Italy (8%), the rest of Europe (12%), and the rest of the world (9%).

Another significant trend is the type of vessel owned by those interested in a berth. The trend is towards medium-large vessels, with 44% of boats from 12m-15m, 35% from 15m-18m, 18% from 18m-24m, and 3% over 24m.

“Our participation in the 50th Boot Düsseldorf, at which we have been present for the past five years, was a chance for us to present our plans for 2019,” notes Agostino Gallozzi, president of Marina d’Arechi SpA.

“The appeal of our marina, for a segment of boaters who pay a great deal of attention to infrastructure and safety, continues to grow. The Northern European market is, from this point of view, an important testing ground confirming the attractiveness of the structure, which is top quality,” he adds.

Marina d’Arechi offers an ideal base for yachts wishing to cruise the Amalfi coast, with easy access to Positano, Capri, Ischia, Ravello, Pompeii and Naples. The full-service facility comprises 1,000 berths within a 340,000sq m basin protected by a 1,200m (3,940ft) breakwater with a depth of 8m (26ft). There is a fuel facility and a yacht repair and maintenance shipyard with a 220-tonne travel lift.
