NMMA releases latest Statistical Abstract for 2018
US sales of pontoon boats, tow boats and personal watercraft (PWC) continued to drive sales growth in 2018, according to the latest Statistical Abstract released by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).
The most current report, available free to NMMA members, shows ski and wake boats up 11% from the previous year, while PWCs rose 8% and pontoons saw a steady 5% improvement. The sale of fishing boats grew at a far more modest rate of just 1%. Boat trailer sales for the year were up 4%.
Of note, following two years of modest growth, 2018 sales of sterndrive and inboard cruisers were flat for the first time in memory during a period of economic prosperity and overall boating growth.
NMMA will release the Boat and Engine Exports and Imports section of the report later this month with the full Statistical Abstract due out in August.
