NMMA reports increases in all categories of boats, with tow boats taking the lead

US powerboat registrations were up 4.4% in November on a rolling, 12-month year-over-year basis, with increases seen in all categories of boats.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association’s (NMMA) New Powerboat Registration Report shows tow boats led growth, up 10.3%. Personal watercraft followed, up 8.4% on the 12-month scale and registering the highest three-month year-over-year growth with a 22.2% increase. Pontoon boats, which have seen a resurgence in the States in recent years, continue to perform well, up 5%.

Tow boats and saltwater fishing boats were up 7.6% and 6.5% respectively during the three-month period.

The NMMA data tracks categories of by boat type, hull material, propulsion, and size.
