The marine fuels and energy provider strengthens support for Africa’s growing boating and superyacht sectors ahead of the Cape Town event

FFS Africa has confirmed its return as a sponsor of the African Boating Conference (ABC) 2026, which will take place on 20-21 October at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.

The renewed partnership comes as Africa’s marine and superyacht sectors continue to expand, placing increasing focus on maritime infrastructure, fuel security and operational capability as essential drivers of sustainable industry growth.

Founded in 1974, FFS has evolved into a diversified energy and marine fuels business operating across industrial energy, bunkering, storage and hydrocarbon services. Through its FFS Marine division, the company supports commercial and superyacht operations across multiple Southern African ports.

As Africa seeks to strengthen its position within the global marine and superyacht sectors, companies such as FFS are playing a growing role in enabling vessel movement, operational efficiency and long-range cruising capability throughout the region.

African Boating Conference organiser, Veda Pretorius, said: “Africa’s boating and maritime sectors cannot grow without the operational systems that support them. Reliable fuel supply, port capability and marine services are all essential components of a functioning marine ecosystem.

”There have been concerns about fuel supply for yachts travelling to the region but FFS have assured us they have enough to supply demand. FFS plays an important role in that environment and we are delighted to welcome them back as a sponsor for ABC 2026.”

The theme for the 2026 conference, Boating as a Catalyst for Economic Growth, will examine marina and waterfront development, marine tourism, superyacht destination growth, infrastructure investment and regional collaboration. International Boat Industry (IBI) is a media partner for the event.

FFS Marine currently supplies marine fuel solutions to both local and international vessels and has invested in bunkering infrastructure supporting operations in Cape Town and other Southern African ports.

Organisers said the company’s continued participation underlines the importance of collaboration between marine services providers, tourism stakeholders, infrastructure operators and government bodies in unlocking the economic potential of Africa’s coastal regions.

The African Boating Conference brings together marina developers, investors, tourism leaders, marine businesses and government representatives from across Africa and international markets to discuss strategic opportunities and development within the sector.
