The company is seeking investors to inject funds into the business
Meta Yachts, based in Tartare, France, has been placed in receivership by a local court. The news comes just days after the company announced plans to open a new facility in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône in the south of France.
Meta Yachts is now seeking investors or buyers to inject funds into the business and enable it to overhaul its finances, according to Le Pays.
Established in 1963, Meta Yachts specialises in aluminium bluewater and expedition boats. The company designs and builds sailboats, trawlers and speedboats using the “deck hull pre-stressed aluminum technique”, making them efficient, innovative, comfortable and resistant.
Meta recently announced plans to begin work on a new 40ft catamaran. The yard was also in the process of expanding its capacity in Villefranche-sur-Saône, in France’s eastern Rhône department, in preparation for its latest new-build project.
