Lippert announces new OEM supply agreement with Continental Trailers

Indiana, US-based equipment manufacturer Lippert Components Inc announced late Monday that the company has entered into a new supply arrangement with Continental Trailers that will see the firm supply marine-grade axles for Continental’s extensive boat trailer lineup. The deal is described as “reinforcing both companies’ commitment to American manufacturing and domestic engineering support”, according to the firm.

Under the agreement, Lippert anticipates supplying 10,000 to 12,000 axles each year to meet Continental’s needs.

“This relationship highlights the advantage of working with a manufacturer that has both the scale and engineering depth to support growing trailer builders,” said Lippert Components’ VP of utility towable sales, Bob Boone. “We manufacture marine axles here in the US and design them specifically for the conditions boat trailers face. That combination of domestic production, proven durability, and engineering support makes us a strong partner for companies like Continental.”

Based in Doral, Florida, with its primary manufacturing centre in the suburban Miami area, Continental manufactures a wide range of both aluminium and galvanised steel boat trailers for vessels from personal watercraft to 40ft power catamarans. Established in 1975, the company serves as an OEM to a number of south-eastern US boat builders and an extensive retail dealer network.
