Construction of two new buildings at Iwata campus to be completed for spring 2028

Yamaha Motor Co has revealed plans to significantly expand its global corporate headquarters in Iwata, Japan with the construction of two new buildings.

Yamaha corporate building

Yamaha’s new corporate HQ will span eight stories with a total floor area of 27,524m²

The new facilities include an eight-level, steel frame corporate headquarters and a six-level, steel frame and reinforced concrete Quality Assurance Center. Both structures are scheduled for completion in early 2028.

Since relocating its headquarters to Iwata nearly 55 years ago, Yamaha Motor has made the city the heart of its manufacturing operations. The new buildings are intended to consolidate functional departments and bring greater operational efficiency and enhancing organisational capabilities, according to the firm. Both structures will incorporate office environments designed to facilitate flexible working arrangements and leverage energy-saving technologies.

Yamaha Quality Assurance Center

Slated for groundbreaking next month, Yamaha’s new Quality Assurance Center will consolidate operations currently spread across seven different locations

The new HQ building will serve as Yamaha’s central hub for corporate operations, with a total floor area of 27,524m². The building will adopt a base-isolation structure for earthquake protection and maximum energy efficiency, achieving both reduced operating costs and a lower environmental impact. Construction is currently scheduled to begin in June.

The planned Quality Assurance Center will comprise six above-ground floors with a total floor area of 11,444m², allowing it to accommodate quality assurance operations currently dispersed across seven separate sites. Groundbreaking is scheduled for February 2026.
