A month following its launch, the superyacht purchase and sales specialists have expanded their team

Just a few weeks after its launch, Equinoxe Yachts International, a company dedicated to the purchase and sales of superyachts, has announced that Aldo Tomasina has joined its team. A nautical entrepreneur with a solid managerial background,Tomasina worked with leading American multinationals Unilever, Jacob Suchard and Kraft after graduating from Milan’s Bocconi University with a degree in economics.

He put his passion for sailing to practical use in 1997, when he became general manager of Prada America’s Cup 2000 and of the Luna Rossa team which went on to win the Louis Vuitton Cup. He took on the same managerial role with Team Nautor Challenge in the 2001-2002 Volvo Ocean Race. He also collaborated on sporting projects with the BMW Match Race Academy and took part in FIV Olympic Preparation Centres project.

Tomasina is also one of the founders of Toy Marine, the Savona builder of sophisticated lobster boat-inspired motoryachts.

For the last years he has been general manager of Advanced Italian Yachts, builders of semi-custom sailing yachts.

“An unmissable opportunity!” is how Aldo describes the new EYI project. “I have known Corrado for many years and we have great mutual respect and rapport. When I learned that Equinoxe Yachts International was being launched around the long-established core of Equinoxe and would include a top-class team of professionals of the likes of Alex Mazzoni, Daniele Botticini, Marica Lippa, Alessandro Ussi and Nicolas Valin, I realised it would be really exciting to be part of the group. I can’t wait to get down to brass tacks and put my experience in the yacht world and, most importantly, the passion that this new adventure inspired, to work.”
